Island Flora

Entry: Joey

Walked the gray trail today when the sun got low enough to allow movement, around 4pm. The rocky paths, strenuous stairs, and precarious edges make a brisk walk impossible. So the walk becomes something else. There are tiny motifs of so many colorful flowers amongst the lava rocks and the crazy shapes of cacti. The temptation to frame a miniature vista and take a photo is irresistible. Photographing the big vistas on Alicudi go without saying, but it's so difficult to capture the expansiveness of the beauty. With the flora, you can get little snippets.

Above are just a few.
