Sunday in the rain and Pranzo

Well we slept in mostly today. I did get these early morning photo of porto and sky from our window before I went back to bed.

Joey took this one. Cool reflection of our building in the windshield!

Then at about one-o'clock we got up, "ho fame" and went over to Porto San Paolo  Ristorante a short walk along the banchina with our umbrellas. The restorante overlooks the Porto di Scaicca and on a sunny dry day you can eat out on the terrace.

We had a wonderful Pranzo at the window corner table (tavolo 8)! The rain poured down and be ate and drank.

We had (oh, how we needed that) Cappuccini while we awaiting to be seated

For Pranzo we had:

Antipasto:
San Paolo Seafood (mix of cooked and raw seafood)

Primo: Pasta:
Spaghetti with shrimp and sea urchins
Sailors Spaghetti with seafood mix

Secundo:
Fritta San Paulo (a fried seafood mix)
Spada Saccense (swordfish in red sauce, olives, capers and onions

Insalata

All deliciously eaten with a liter of vino bianco!

The staff was so very welcoming and patient with our language skills. From observation I suspect that many family members that took care of us today. I did hear a "Mamma..." from the hostess who sat us and also observed, who i can only assume was Nonna seated there in the waiting area by the desk, tidy up the back of a sweater of a young man who was surely her grandson.

In our three stays here in Sciacca we had never gone to this restorante but now it will always be on our list of best places to eat in Sciacca. We need to go back and have the deserts which we were too full to have this time. Especially the cake that looked like it had a custard filling topped with raspberries!

Porto San Paolo Restorante & Pizzeria
La Terrazza sul Mare
Sciacca (AG)

Then back to Le Cassette to nurse my cold and go to bed even if it is only four o'clock in the afternoon.
